So much happens in Autumn in the awesome little town of Marshall, Illinois. One of the year’s biggest events will happen mid-month, with lots of excitement and other fun events leading up to it and beyond.
It’s a great time of the year to enjoy the great outdoors, and Marshall has one of the best State Parks to explore and spend quality time in. Lincoln Trail State Park draws people from across the state to camp, fish, hike, and picnic.
Calling all Cornhole Lovers:
If you love to compete and have cornhole skills, get over to Lincoln Trail State Park this Saturday, September 5, at 10 am and take part in the Cornhole Tournament. The entry fee is $20 per team, and there will be first- and second-place prizes.
More of an indoor fun lover?
The National Road Rusty Rooster is partnering up with the Historic Harlan Hall for a rousing game of Plant Bingo. What are the prizes? Plants, of course. Come out and play fun games with friends and neighbors. The event will be held on Wednesday, September 16, at Harlan Hall, 603 Locust St., Marshall, Illinois. Doors open at 5:30 pm. Play all 10 games for only $25, and your fee includes water or a soft drink and a complimentary sweet treat.
Time to play some golf! – Marshall Chamber of Commerce Golf Outing.
It’s time for the Marshall Annual Golf Outing. Get out to the Marshall Golf Course and participate in this tournament, sponsored by the Marshall Area Chamber of Commerce. The tournament is the first big event of the Autumn Fest weekend. Fun to participate in or watch.
To participate, gather your team of four players. The fee is $300 per team and includes breakfast and lunch as well as coupons for a beverage at the clubhouse. Each player will get a SWAG goodie bag with items donated by local businesses.
Speaking of businesses, your business can sponsor a hole for only $200. Have your business logo or name prominently displayed at the hole you sponsor to gain recognition and exposure.

September’s big event – Marshall Autumn Fest
Yup, it’s that time of year again. Marshall goes all out for the annual Autumn Fest. The event runs for an entire weekend, September 18, 19, and 20. All events happen downtown Marshall on the Courthouse Square.
One of the biggest parts of the event is the fabulous live music. This year’s line-up includes:
Friday:
The powerhouse duo Beauty & The Beats kicks off the festival on Friday, September 18, from 6 pm to 7 pm. They feature vocalist Aura Ray, from NBC’s The Voice 2025, and the incredible Sean Noel on guitar and percussion.
American Vanity, a new teen internet sensation, takes over to complete the evening from 8 pm to 10 pm. This performance is a must-see for anyone who craves unfiltered authenticity and genuine rock-and-roll. Come out for the massive, arena-ready anthems, and stay for a special, intimate segment as we sit down with the band to discuss their musical influences, their evolution, and exclusive details about their highly anticipated new music.
Saturday:
On Saturday, September 19, Festival Favorite, Circle City Sidewalk Stompers will entertain the crowd from 2:30 to 3:30 pm.
Local favorites Whiskey Sour will bring their brand of timeless country classics with unexpected rock and pop favorites to the stage from 6:30 to 7:30 pm.
Garth Brooks Tribute band – No Fences will wrap up the night from 8 pm to 9:30 pm. Considered the nation’s premier tribute to country music icon Garth Brooks, No Fences features Dusty Miller and the band, bringing the roaring energy, signature look, and stadium sound of a live Garth concert.
Sunday:
Sunday’s musical group finishes up the musical part of the weekend – High Cotton takes the stage to take it home from 1 pm to 3 pm. This group strikes a flawless balance between musical tradition and modern innovation. They are known for their tight harmonies and a deep commitment to musical excellence.
There will be so much more at the event, including about 20 food trucks serving all kinds of food and beverages, so something for everyone. There will be craft vendors, car, truck, and motorcycle shows, and the highlight of the weekend: the Autumn Fest Parade.
