The Downtown Park is located where the former First National Bank building was. Richard Bernardoni owned the lot and sold it to the Marshall Township with the Garden Club to maintain.
In 1996 Marshall Main Street, Marshall Garden Club and the Marshall City Council Park Committee began planning this park. The concept was ” Could we make lemonade out of this lemon?” The development of the Downtown Park has helped remove an eyesore from the downtown area as well as instill pride in our downtown.
The Downtown Park provides a pleasant place for downtown workers and visitors to take a break or have lunch. Organizations use it for programs and meetings, and a wedding has been held in the park. The park provides a beautiful spot for listening to the Friday Night City Band Concert.
