More Summer Fun Happening in Marshall, Illinois

The summer fun is still in full swing, even as we gear up for the new school year and its end. There are still lots of fun things to do in July and August here in Marshall during the summer. The town pool is still going strong. Our Friday nights at the town square in downtown Marshall are on for a few more weeks with our Farmer’s Market and concerts from the Marshall City band.

Wrapping up the end of this month is one of Marshall’s most favorite events (and there is still time to sign up to participate). Every year, Marshall hosts the annual Lemonade Stand Contest, a beloved summer event for the whole family. Your creative youngsters will love being involved in this as a participant. This one is for the budding entrepreneurs in the family who want to be part of one of the oldest business models for kids ever invented…The Lemonade Stand. How many of us set up a card table on the lawn on a hot summer day, set up our lemonade stand, and waved at the cars going by in hopes that they would stop and buy a cup of our lemonade? If so, you know the thrill of making that sale and being your own boss for the first time.

If you have a little business-minded young one at home who wants to participate, sign them up and let their business skills shine. As it is the 250th anniversary of our amazing country, this year, we are encouraging all participants to show off their American spirit. We want to see the stands decorated in red, white, and blue themes to keep the celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary going.
