Summer Fun in Marshall Illinois: Happenings for Ladies, Kids, & Families

Summer is here, and we all want to get out and have some fun. The kids are home from school, and in Marshall, Illinois, we plan to keep them busy with fun summer activities.

The library, youth group, and even some of the churches have things for the kids. Our town pool is open, the community band is tuned up, and restaurants and shops are in full swing and want our business.

Fun Stuff for the Kids:

Make Lemonade Out of Lemons:

As the heat rises, we have thoughts of that one beverage that quenches our dry throats… Lemonade.

What keeps kids busy, having fun, and earning some extra fun money? Why the Lemonade Stand, of course.

The 24th Annual Lemonade Stand Contest will be held on July 16th at 6:15 PM. Do you think your kiddo has what it takes to win the prize? Brainstorm a clever name. Decorate your stand. Think big, but submit your application by July 9th. Contact Marshall Main Street – call 217-826-9023 for info.

Is Your Kid a Royal?

Got a kiddo who is 5- or 6-year-old and lives in the Marshall school district? If so, you might see them crowned royalty at the Marshall Autumn Fest.

Get your application in as soon as possible so they can be included as a candidate and nominated for the 2021 Autumn Fest Prince and Princess. They must be one of the first six boys and six girls to apply to be a candidate, “compete” for prince or princess on the festival’s opening night and ride in the Autumn Fest parade on Saturday morning of the event.

Get down to the Chamber of Commerce to fill out a nomination form to submit along with a picture of the child. Drop that at the chamber of commerce office or mail to Marshall Autumn Fest PO Box 222 Marshall, IL 62441.

Vacation Bible School – Free event

Marshall First Christian Church (right next to the high school) offers free bible school each night, June 27th through July 1st, from 6–8:30 PM. This is a free event for kids ages preschool (must be fully potty-trained) thru entering 6th grade. The kids will explore the ROCKY RAILWAY to learn how Jesus’ Power Can Pull Us Through.

There will be a Bible lesson, games, crafts, snacks, worship, and more each evening. If interested, contact the church office at 217-826-2306 for more details or go to the link here:·
