The Solar Eclipse is a BIG DEAL in Marshall, Illinois

Here in Marshall, we are a small town that does things in a BIG way. Join us for a weekend of pre-parties and events leading up to the big day when the Earth will experience a solar eclipse in 2024.

This total eclipse will be the only one to be seen in the 21st century in Mexico, the U.S., and Canada, and we will not see another one until 2044. So, get your eclipse glasses ready. Ensure the kids are protected and do not look at this with the naked eye. It’s recommended that you keep the pets inside as well.

Here in Marshall, we start the fun on Friday, April 5, and have all kinds of things to do and see right up until the eclipse. Colorful fireworks and high-tech drones will fill the skyline along with a hot air balloon glow. There will be live music, movies, and a day for the kids featuring bounce houses and games. Nearly all the events are free!
